LSB Giving Back: Part 4November 10, 2009 -- Lincoln Savings Bank (LSB) demonstrates our commitment to the communities we serve in a variety of ways. Our Core Value of “Passionate Community Stewardship” is achieved, in large part, through sponsorships, donations and employee volunteerism. Many of our employees spend countless hours serving local organizations and give generously of their own time, talents and resources. LSB is highlighting how our employees “Give Back” to the communities through various efforts. Part 4 of this series follows with the results of a recent Food Drive at LSB. During 3 weeks in the month of October, LSB conducted a Food Drive at all locations to collect nonperishable food items to be donated to local food banks. Employees were encouraged to bring in items, and also place a public food collection box at each branch location so customers could also participate. The results were quite impressive! In only 3 short weeks LSB collected 2257 items and $160 cash for area food banks. LSB's Grinnell office really stepped up to the challenge! With only 10 employees and generous customers, they collected a total of 504 items for an average of 50 items per employee! 10 of LSB's 14 branches collected more than 100 items each. Heather Fromm, AVP Account Manager for LSB Financial, organized the food drive on behalf of LSB. "I am proud to work for an organization with such generous employees and customers. I was very pleased we were able to gather so many items for our local food banks." Heather said. LSB would like to extend a very special Thank You to our customers who donated so generously and helped make the food drive such a success. During difficult economic times it is especially important to remember those in need and lend a helping hand.
