ICBA HonorMarch 20, 2009 -- Lincoln Savings Bank (LSB) was honored by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) on March 20, 2009, for outstanding community service. LSB was one of seven community bank award winners from across the country for the 2009 ICBA National Community Bank Service Awards. The winners were announced during ICBA’s National Convention and Techworld in Phoenix. ICBA recognizes National Community Bank Service Award recipients annually. "ICBA's National Community Bank Service Awards honor the dedication and commitment of community bankers across our nation who make their local communities a better place to live and work," said Cynthia L. Blankenship, ICBA chairman and vice chairman and chief operating officer of Bank of the West, Grapevine, Texas. "This year’s award recipients exemplify what community bank service is all about, and we commend all the award recipients for giving invaluable time, expertise and resources to their communities.” The seven banks honored performed unparalleled acts of community
service by providing leadership in financial literacy, supporting
education and providing emergency relief to families in the wake
of natural disaster. LSB was awarded this honor for efforts and
service provided to local communities following the tornado and
floods of 2008. |
